Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has become the messiah for migrant workers. For the past several days, they have been helping migrant workers trapped in lockdown by buses to reach their homes. So far, they have repatriated more than 12,000 workers. Sonu Sood said that at one time I was also an immigrant. So I understand their pain and struggle.
In an interview, he said, “I am helping migrant workers, because I was a migrant who came to Mumbai with a lot of dreams. I can see from the pictures how much trouble they are going through. They are thousands of kilometers away. Huh.” Walking on the streets I remembered my early days, I first came to Mumbai by ticketless train, standing at the door of the train and sleeping near the toilet. I know what the conflict is. ”
Sonu Sood and his team have sent thousands of workers by bus from Mumbai, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and work is still on. His wife Sonali, sons Ahsan and Ayan are also helping him in this work.
“We have just started a helpline through which people are contacting us,” he said. When the call arrives, my wife takes notes and my son makes a list of who will be on which bus. Sonu Sood also supervises bus travel paperwork and medical test reports.
